Animals are funny shapes.

They are delightful, persistent, fragile in soft bodiesĀ of fur, feather, flesh;

With claws, teeth, beaks that evolved just for themĀ to snatch, gnash, peck;

At risk of being torn, eaten, squashed over impulses of power, hunger, fear;

They forage, frolic, fly anyway with instincts to gather, play persevere;

Animals are miracles because of brave guts and small glory,

And I am just as funny.
